INQUIRER BANDERA’s on-the-spot postage stamp design contest

CONTEST MECHANICS:

1. The competition is open to elementary, high school and college students from public and private schools.

2. Participants may register in advance through this link: https://goo.gl/forms/7iP72NmDu7

3. The artwork must interpret the theme “BANDERA: HINDI LANG BASTA TABLOID”.

4. Entries must be made on 8 3/4 inches x 11 ½ inches white illustration board in either portrait or landscape format.

5. Entries must be purely artwork and should NOT incorporate the text of the theme, denomination of the stamp, year of issue and the word ‘PILIPINAS’.

6. The artwork must be accompanied by a write up or interpretation of the theme and the design. It must be written legibly in an A4 size bond paper and must not be less than 100 words.

7. The artwork must be rendered using ANY of the following: oil, acrylic, pastel. There are no restrictions in the colors to be used in the artwork.

8. The name, birthday, address, contact number of the participant and name of the school should b attached at the back of the illustration board.

9. All materials shall be provided by the participants.

10. Participants will be given two (2) hours to accomplish the artwork.

11. Criteria for judging:

Originality (20%) – novelty of the images, concepts, and ideas presented in the artwork

Relevance to the theme (50%) – artwork communicates the significance of the theme

Visual Impact (15%) – over-all visual appeal of the artwork

Artistic method/design (15%) – artist’s versatility and creative use of artistic elements in the artwork

TOTAL: 100%

12. From among all entries per venue, ten (10) will be shortlisted by the Screening Committee. The Committee shall be headed by

INQUIRER BANDERA officials and judges of indisputable competence. The decision of the panel of judges is final and not subject to appeal.

13. All entries shall automatically become the property of the INQUIRER BANDERA.

14. The top twenty-five (25) winning designs will be featured in INQUIRER BANDERA’s 25th anniversary coffee table book; 1st, 2nd and 3rd winning entries will be featured in the 25th anniversary issue of INQUIRER BANDERA.
