Miriam inindorso si Manny V. Pangilinan bilang presidente

ININDORSO kahapon ni Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago ang negosyanteng si Manny V. Pangilinan bilang presidente sa 2016 elections.
“I want you to think about Mr. Manny Pangilinan for president of the Republic of the Philippines,” sabi ni Santiago matapos magsalita sa Maynilad Leadership Talk na ginanap sa University of the Philippines (UP), Diliman.
Sa isang press conference, muling inulit ni Santiago na sinusuportahan niya ang kandidatura ni Pangilinan sa pampanguluhang eleksyon sa susunod na taon.
“Yes, it is,” dagdag ni Santiago.
“It is people like him, who should be elected to positions of leadership. It should not be people from highly publicized career because their careers where they are the leading celebrities might blind them to the fact that their qualifications are sufficient for the job. I’m particularly talking about people from mass media, film and television,” ayon pa kay Santiago.
Matatandaang nililigawan ni Vice President Jejomar Binay si Pangilinan para tumakbong bise presidente sa 2016 kung saan tatakbo naman siya bilang presidente.
“My qualifications are, number one, the president should be honest but that’s the most difficult qualification to determine because there’s no guaranteed test for honesty in public service. Second is professional excellence and the third is academic excellence,” dagdag ni Santiago.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Santiago, na nakahanda siyang tumakbo sa pagkapangulo ng bansa sakaling gumaling siya sa kanyang state 4 lung cancer.
“Well, just because it is an option for me doesn’t mean I have to close all options. I’m just saying, thinking aloud to the young people what type of candidate I have in mind,” dagdag ni Santiago.
“Maybe we (can) run a survey in internet and find out what the educated young think about all these circus in politics. Kaya nagiging corrupt kasi wala silang morale character, mahina ang morale character nila dahilan sa kulang ang edukasyon so this all starts with voter education,” ayon pa kay Santiago.

Ang Maynilad ay kabilang sa mga kumpanya na pinapatakbo ni Pangilinan. Ang iba pang kumpanya na kanyang hawak ay PLDT, Meralco, Smart, Metro Pacific at TV 5.
