PUMANAW na kahapon ng umaga, 8 a.m., ang veteran actor na si Mark Gil – Ralph John Eigenmann sa tunay na buhay. Siya ay 52 years old. Agad ding ipina-cremate ang mga labi nito sa Heritage Park Chapels and Crematorium sa Taguig City.

Si Mark ay ama nina Andi Eigenmann, Gabby Eigenmann at Sid Lucero, at kapatid ng mga kilala ring aktor na sina Michael de Mesa at Cherie Gil. Naging karelasyon din siya noon ng mga aktres na sina Jaclyn Jose at Bing Pimentel.

Ayon sa ulat, liver cirrhosis ang ikinamatay ni Mark. “Yes, we would like to confirm the death of one of our beloved Mark Gil who just joined our creator this morning at 8 a.m.

As of now, the family is in deep grieving and they want private time with him. Thank you and we need all your prayers for the repose soul of Mark and strength for his bereaved family,” ayon sa inisyal na pahayag ng pamilya ng namayapang aktor.

Ang huling naging proyekto ni Mark ay ang teleseryeng The Legal Wife ng ABS-CBN at My Husband’s Lover sa GMA.
Ipagdiriwang sana ni Mark ang kanyang ika-53 kaarawan sa September 25.

Si Mark ay kasal kay Maricar Jacinto mula pa noong 2006. Mahigit 100 pelikula rin ang nagawa ng aktor, ang pinakahuli nga ay ang “Seduction” noong 2013. Umabot naman sa mahigit 30 ang nagawa niyang teleserye.

Sa kanyang Facebook account, ipinarating ni Andi ang pasasalamat sa kanyang ama, “The ever supportive dad who stood up with her daughter on one of the biggest trials of her life, RIP Sir Mark Gil, a great and loving father, a man of honor, a brilliant actor of Philippine Showbiz, you will be missed.”

Napakaraming local celebrities ang nagpahatid din ng kanilang pakikiramay sa naiwang pamilya at kaanak ng aktor sa Twitter at Facebook, una na nga diyan si Maja Salvador na gumanap na anak niya sa The Legal Wife, anang aktres, “My Daddy Dante, I will miss you!”

Mensahe naman ni Lea Salonga, “Rest in peace, Mark Gil. I hold your whole family in my heart and prayers today.” “I watched Batch ’81 for a school paper back in college.. I was left speechless by Mark Gil’s amazing talent as an actor. RIP, sir!” sey ni Maxene Magalona.
