NAG-UUSAP na diumano sina Top Rank promoter Bob Arum at Golden Boy president Oscar De La Hoya para ikasa ang matinding laban sa pagitan nina World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao at Saul “Canelo” Alvarez ng Mexico.
Sa panayam kay Lance Pugmire ng Los Angeles Times, sinabi ni De La Hoya na, “Anything’s possible. That’s one of the reasons I was extending the olive branch. The fans want to see these kinds of fights.”
Kung matutuloy ang nasabing laban, magiging daan ito para matapos na ang hidwaan sa pagitan ng dalawang batikang boxing promoter.
Ang matagal ng alitan sa pagitan ng dalawang promoter ay nagresulta naman sa pagkawala ng magagandang boxing matchups.
Nilinaw naman ni Arum na wala siyang problema na makasama ang boxing legend-turned promoter na si De La Hoya dahil isa ito sa mga premyadong boksingero na hinawakan niya noon.
