Chinese airline sumadsad sa NAIA; libo-libong pasahero apektado

SUMADSAD ang isang Chinese airline sa runway ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Huwebes ng gabi, kung saan libo-libong pasahero ang stranded dahil sa aksidente.

Sinabi ng NAIA na nananatiling nakasara ang runway 06/24, na ginagamit ng maraming international flights.

Inisyal na plano lamang na isara lamang ang runway hanggang alas-12 ng hapon.

Sinabi ng mga airport authorities na naialis na ang buntot ng Boeing B737 Xiamen Air flight MF8667 mula sa damuhang lugar kung saan ito nabalahaw, para matanggal ang mga passenger baggage mula sa compartment.

Idinagdag ni NAIA na nag-landing ang eroplano sa runway 24 ng airport ganap na alas-11:55 ng gabi. Sinabi ng NAIA na nakaranas ang eroplano ng “runway excursion” matapos mag-landing.

Nangyayari ang runway excursion kapag nagkakaroon “inappropriate exit from the runway due to pilot error, poor weather, or a fault with the aircraft”.

Sinabi ng mga otoridad na natatagalan ang recovery operation dahil sa basang mga damo dahil sa ulan.
