SUMAILALIM ang anim na senador sa boluntaryong drug test.
Kabilang sa mga nagpa-drug test ay sina Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senators Gringo Honasan, Loren Legarda, Bam Aquino, at Antonio Trillanes IV.
Sa kanyang talumpati sa flag ceremony sa Senado kahpon ng umaga, inihayag ni Sotto ang pagsasagawa ng random drug test sa mga empleyado ng Senado.
“…To show my support for the mandatory drug testing program of the Senate, I have decided to undergo drug-testing myself today,” sabi ni Sotto.
“I will be the first in line, in the 2nd floor Padilla Room, which has been set-up for this purpose. I have asked my BFF, Senator Gringo Honasan, to join us. He will be second in line,” ayon pa kay Sotto.
Matapos na magpa-drug test nina Sotto at Honasan, sumunod sa kanila sina Zubiri, Aquino, Legarda, at Trillanes
Sinabi naman ni Trillanes na dapat sumailalim din sa drug test si Pangulong duterte at mga empleyado ng Office of the President.
“Dapat si Duterte mismo, para malaman ng taumbayan kung ‘yung mismong namumuno ng war on drugs ay hindi influenced ng illegal na droga,” sabi ni Trillanes.
Idinagdag ni Trillanes na dapat ding isama ni Duterte ang kanyang pamilya sa drug testing.
“Dapat beyond reproach ang First Family,” sabi ni Trillanes.
Umabot na sa 343 empleyado ng Senado na sumailalim sa random drug test.
Ayon sa opisina ni Sotto, umabot na sa 76 na empleyaado ng Senado ang “non-compliant.”
