Sinabi ni Akbo Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr., na inaasahang mararatipika ang panukala ng Kongreso bago mag-adjourn sa susunod na linggo.
“This is a welcome development to boost the country’s security. We expect the President to sign this into law once Congress ratifies the measure,” ani Garbin.
Sinabi ni House committee on dangerous drugs chairman Ace Barbers na makatutulong ang National ID system sa pagpapatupad ng batas.
Nanawagan naman si House Deputy Speaker Raneo Abu sa Philippine Statistics Authority na seguruhin na mapoproteksyunan ang impormasyon ng mga Filipino.
“This is very important in our fight against terrorism and other lawless elements. We expect the PSA to immediately implement this after the measure becomes a law,” ani Abu. “This will help interconnect the countless and redundant government IDs.”
Ayon kay House committee on appropriations chairman Karlo Nograles may nakalaang P2 bilyon para sa pagpapatupad nito ngayong taon.
Bukod sa pangalan, kasarian, at iba pang impormasyon, kukunin din ang finger print ng 10 daliri sa kamay ng kukuha ng ID.
