Floirendo ipinaaaresto, rumesbak kay Alvarez

NAGPALABAS ng warrant of arrest ang Sandiganbayan Sixth Division laban kay Davao del Norte Rep. Antonio Floirendo Jr., kaugnay sa maanomalya umanong kasunduan sa pagitan ng Tagum Development Co. (Tadeco) at Bureau of Corrections.

Maaaring maglagak si Floirendo ng P30,000 piyansa para sa kanyang pansamantalang kalayaan.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni Floirendo na ang kaso ay isang malinaw na “abuse of power and arrogance” ni House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, ang dating kaibigan niya na naghain ng reklamo sa kanya sa Ombudsman.
“I am ready to face this case as this will give the opportunity to clear my name. My only hope is for the Speaker to insulate the courts from his established brand of maneuvering and undue influence.”
Si Alvarez ang naghain ng reklamo laban kay Floirendo na opisyal umano ng Tadeco nang pumasok ito sa kasunduan sa BuCor.
Sinabi ni Floirendo mayroong personal na interes si Alvarez para sa kanyang negosyo kaya gusto niya na makuha ang lupang ginagamit ng Tadeco.
“I would like to point out that this transgression on the part of the Speaker is not only political but a veiled attempt at grabbing the deal for his business and personal interest.”
Ayon kay Floirendo, hindi maitatago ang katotohanan na libong pamilya ang nakikinabang sa Tadeco-BuCor bill.
“I maintain my faith in our justice system because I have not done anything wrong. In the end, I am confident that I will prevail because the truth is on my side,” aniya.—Leifbilly Begas
