INIHAYAG ng Palasyo ang pagbibitiw ni Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chairman Jose Jorge Elizalde Corpuz sa puwesto sa harap naman ng naunang pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte na may isusunod siyang sisibakin na opisyal.
Iginiit naman ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na hindi si Corpuz ang tinutukoy ni Duterte na kanyang isusunod na tatanggalin sa katungkulan dahil sa umano’y katiwalian.
“This is to announce that Mr. Jose Jorge Elizalde Corpuz has resigned as Chairman and Member, Board of Directors, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office due to health reasons. Mr. Corpuz, for the information of everyone, is not the person whom the President said he will fire for corruption,” sabi ni Roque.
Sa kanyang talumpati sa Manila Hotel noong Huwebes ng gabi, sinabi ni Duterte na isang chairman ng isang ahensiya ang isusunod niyang sibakin dahil sa korupsyon.
Hindi naman nagbigay ng detalye si Duterte hinggil sa naturang opisyal na tatanggalin sa puwesto.
