Joint session para sa martial law, hindi na kailangan ng special session

Sa Huwebes o Biyernes posibleng isagawa ang joint session ng Senado at Kamara de Representantes para sa hinihinging extension ng Martial Law sa Mindanao.     Ayon kay House majority leader Rodolfo Farinas hindi na kakailanganin pa na magpatawag ng special session si Pangulong Duterte upang maaksyunan ang kahilingan nito.       “Our session officially ends on Friday, December 15, hence we may have a joint session on Thursday of Friday as part of the 2nd Regular Session, without need of a special session,” ani Farinas.     Ang deklarasyon ng martial law ay nauna ng pinalawig ng Kongreso hanggang ngayong taon lamang.     Sa sulat, sinabi ni Duterte na inirekomenda sa kanya ng chief of staff ng Armed Forces na palawigin pa ng isang taon ang martial law at suspensyon ng habeas corpus sa Mindanao.     Kailangan umano ang martial law upang mapuksa ang DAESH-inspired na Da’awatul Islamiyah Waliyatul Masriq, iba pang terrorist group, mga kriminal at ang New Peoples Army na idineklara ng terorista ni Duterte kamakailan.       “A further extension of the implementation of Martial Law and suspension of the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus in Mindanao will help the AFP, PNP and all other law enforcement agencies to quell completely and put an end to the on-going rebellion in Mindanao and prevent the same from escalating to other parts of the country.”       Hiling ni Duterte ang pagpapalawig ng martial law sa buong taon ng 2018.
