INIHAYAG ng Palasyo na maaaring nang ituloy ng Philippine National Police ang Oplan Tokhang matapos ibalik ni Pangulong Duterte ang kapangyarihan sa PNP para ipatupad ang gera kontra droga.
Sa isang briefing, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na sa ilalim ng bagong memorandum na pinirmahan ni Duterte, ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) pa rin ang siyang mangunguna sa kampanya kontra ilegal na droga.
“Directing the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement agencies, to resume, providing active support to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, in the conduct of anti-illegal drug operations,” sabi ni Roque.
Nauna nang inalis ni Duterte sa PNP ang gera kontra droga matapos namang bumaba ang trust rating ng pangulo sa harap na rin ng nangyaring pagpatay ng mga pulis sa mga menor-de-edad.
“They will resume, providing active support in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, in the conduct of anti-illegal drug operations. Meaning, PDEA remains the lead but the PNP will again participate in the anti-illegal drug operations,” ayon pa kay Roque.
