MAINE MENDOZA AT ALDEN RICHARDS

A SQUARE peg that doesn’t fit a round hole.

Ganito lang kasimple ilarawan ngayon si Maine Mendoza, probably a reluctant star noon na masyadong na-overwhelm (masyado na, over pa) sa kanyang instant, effortless fame. Beyond expectations nga naman kasi ang nangyari compared to most, if not all stars—then and now—who toiled hard in pursuit of that elusive fame.

Pinatindi pa ‘yon ng ka-OA-n ng suporta ng kanyang mga fans who have massed together to form a nation, but whose allegiance is unilateral. Kay Maine lang, wala kay Alden.

Proof to this ay ang mataas na tolerance level ng kanyang fans to her shenanigans, samantalang there’s outrage toward Alden sa konting kibot na gawin nito.

Pasasaan ba’t darating din ang saturation point ni Maine, time to unleash her rebellious sentiments if at all she wanted to save whatever is left of her consumed self.

Hindi nga siguro para sa showbiz si Maine na batbat ng pagkukunwari, she’s not cut out to live in a dishonest world na oo nga’t sikat siya but with fame—and holding on to it—comes having to fool the public, but most of all, herself.

How ironic nga lang.

Isang eksperto sa kusina si Maine having finished a degree in culinary arts. But because she couldn’t stand the heat, she got out of her turf.

Some members of the entertainment note kung paanong hindi inilapit ni Maine ang kanyang sarili sa mga ito.

Kung wala pa raw kasi siyang ipino-promote na pelikula, bagong TV show o produkto, she wouldn’t let anyone of them get through her as opposed to Alden.

We beg to disagree. Lamang lang siguro ng dalawang paligo si Alden. Truth to tell, not all reporters who write and have written nice pieces about him are privileged invitees sa manaka-naka lang namang paanyaya niya sa press.

Selective invitation din kasi ang pinaiiral ng kampo ni Alden gayong these people have either direct or indirect access to the press.

Alden isn’t even one step closer to being every reporter’s darling. Baka nga bumagsak pa siya sa pagbanggit ng pangalan ng kaharap niyang reporter, his bedimpled smile is nothing but generic.
