2 araw na transport strike muling itinakda ng Piston sa Dec. 4-5
INIHAYAG ng militanteng grupo na Piston na nakatakda itong magsagawa ng dalawang araw na transport strike mula Disyembre 4 hanggang Disyembre 5 para tutulan ang isinusulong ng gobyerno na jeepney modernization program.
Sinabi ni George San Mateo, national president ng Piston na layunin ng ikaapat na bugso ng welga na tutulan ang planong phase out ng mga jeepney na hindi lulusot sa vehicle inspection test simula sa Enero 1, 2018.
“The jeepney phase out is just one way for [President] Duterte to appeal himself to foreign and local capitalists. It has no other objective than for a few corporations to monopolize [the jeepney industry],” dagdag ni San Mateo.
Noong Oktubre pinangunahan ng Piston ang dalawang araw na welga na naging dahilan para isuspinde ng Malacañang na isuspinde ang pasok sa mga paaralan at tanggapan ng gobyerno sa buong bansa.
