Darren Espanto humakot ng 6 na tropeo sa 30th Awit Awards

SI Darren Espanto ang naging Petmalu Lodi of the night sa naganap na 30th Awit Awards last Sunday, sa KIA Theatre.

Siya ang pinakamaraming naiuwing awards sa ginanap na gabi ng parangal kung saan pinarangalan nga ang mga outstanding music artists, composers at producers ng OPM.

Sa maikling panayam namin kay Darren, kitang-kita ang kaligayahan sa kanyang mukha na hindi pa rin makapaniwala sa dami ng award na tinanggap.

“Hindi ko talaga in-expect and nanginginig po ako ngayon pero I’m just so happy and I feel so blessed. I’m just so surprised for all these awards. Wala na po akong mahihiling pa,” sey ni Darren.

Abot-langit din ang pasasalamat ng young singer sa kanyang fans and supporters na full-force pumunta ng KIA para mag-cheer sa kanya.

“They’re (the fans) awesome people. Sobrang solid po nila and I just wouldn’t be here really, kung wala po sila,” aniya pa.

Anim na awards ang naiuwi ni Darren: Best New Male Artist, Favorite Song, Favorite Album, Favorite Record, Favorite Male Artist at Best Selling Album.

Wagi rin ng major award ang anak ni Piolo Pascual na si Inigo, ang Song of the Year. Hindi na ito kataka-taka dahil alam naman ng lahat kung gaano ka-hit ang kanyang kantang “Dahil Sa ‘Yo” na halos oras-oras napapakinggan sa mga FM music stations.

Napanood din sa awards night ang pagkanta ni Kyla ng “Monumento,” na siya namang naging Best Performance by Collaboration, kung saan nakasama niya si Kris Lawrence.

Itchyworms took home the Best Performance by a Group at Record of the Year trophies para sa kantang “Dalawang Letra.” Best Male and Female Recording Artist naman sina Gabby Alipe (Visions) at Kim Molina (Naluluha Ako). Nakuha naman ni Quest ang Album of the Year at Best Inspirational Recording.

Present din that night ang FPJ’s Probinsyano leading lady na si Yassi Pressman, para tanggapin ang Best Dance Recording award for her album “Dumadagundong.”

Personal ding tinanggap ng singer-actress na si Vina Morales ang kanyang award bilang Best Favorite Female Artist.

Pinarangalan naman ang VST & Company bilang Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino Awardee.
