Pilita Corrales kay Janine Gutierrez: Sana huwag na lang siya mag-asawa!
WINNER ang nakaraang concert ng Asia’s Queen of Songs na si Pilita Corrales sa The Theater ng Solaire Resort & Casino last weekend. World-class caliber talaga si Pilita bilang singer.
Na-amaze rin kami sa beauty ni Pilita nu’ng kabataan niya sa mga video clips na ipinalabas during the show especially when she became a star in Australia.
Kahawig nga siya ng apo niya na si Janine Gutierrez, panganay na anak nina Lotlot de Leon at Monching Gutierrez. Tama si Direk Joey Reyes when he said si Janine ang batang Pilita sa movie nila na “Spirit of the Glass 2.”
Bukod sa pretty face and curvaceous body ni Pilita where she’s very well known, maganda rin ang boses ni Janine, huh!
We wonder why hindi nabigyan ng chance si Janine to push her talent on singing. Or baka hindi lang kami aware na kumakanta rin siya? Ha-hahaha!
Kyut ang duet ni Janine at ng kanyang Mamita na pinamagatang “An Evening with Pilita at The Theater.” Kinanta ni Janine ang Visayan version ng “Ang Pipit” habang si Pilita naman ang kumanta sa Tagalog.
Towards the end of the show, ni-reveal ni Pilita na si Dulce ang nag-research ng Visayan version ng “Ang Pipit.” Pinasalamatan din niya si Dulce at tinawag “the diva of all divas.”
Sa kalagitnaan ng show, bago kumanta si Pillita for her next song ay bumalik sa stage si Janine para dalhan siya ng tubig. Pilita couldn’t help her emotion on how proud she is sa kanyang apo.
“She’s so pretty, ‘di ba? She’s such a talented girl and very nice. I wish ‘wag na lang siyang mag-asawa ‘no!” ‘di napigilang sabihin ni Pilita on stage.
Nakwento naman ni Pilita nu’ng hingan siya ng production staff ng list of songs that would best describe her love story, ‘di raw siya agad nakapagbigay. Napaka-co-lorful daw kasi ng kanyang buhay pag-ibig.
Pilita’s first husband was Gonzalo Blanco (Jackielou’s father), a deceased top actor at Premiere Productions, Amado del Paraguay, Eddie Gutierrez (by whom she has a son, si Monching nga) and her “long-lasting” love na si Carlos Lopez.
Inamin ni Pilita in one of her interviews na sinaktan din siya physically ng partner niya noon na si Amado but that’s a thing of the past na raw.
Super nakaka-touch naman ‘yung portion ni Pilita with her children Jackielou and Monching. Bago sila kumanta, ipinakita muna ang interview sa dalawa sa big screen na nasa gitna ng stage.
They both expressed their love for their mom, praised her for raising them well as a solo parent. Pinasalamatan pa ni Monching si Pilita for giving him financial assistance and his children. At hindi rin nahiya si Monching na sabihin na up to now, patuloy pa rin ang pagpo-provide sa kanila ni Pilita.
Pilita did three costume-changes throughout the concert. Her stunning black, red and white gowns, matched by same color-robes, were created by Fanny Serrano.
Pinasalamatan din ni Pilita ang lahat ng tumulong sa kanya for her concert sa pangunguna ni Audie Gemora, ang entertainment director ng Solaire, Conchita Razon, AMP Band together with the string section of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra with Mel Villena as musical director at ang director ng concert na si Carlo Orosa.
