Maging si former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz slightly alarmed when we mentioned to her about the negative reactions ng netizens kay Mariel.

“It should not kasi ‘yung voting through text, that really makes a difference, ‘di ba?

“Oh, what advice can I give them? They know what they’re doing. Maybe even better than I ever did. I think, just go, enjoy. Take lots of photos and focus. Don’t eat too much. Usually, the food is so good, e. Para hindi lumaki ang tiyan. Stomach in, put your butt out, chest out, and wa-a-a-lk.”

Joining beauty pageants according to Gloria is all about confidence, “The physical beauty kasi you can fix that hindi ba? The confidence pwedeng pag-aralan ‘yan. In the beginning kasi usually they’re shy. Pero, join many, many times.

“Three times, four times. Kasi during my time walang ganu’n, e. Kung pango ka, you have to face them. If you’re flat-chested, that’s it. And you can only join once. Pero ngayon, go with the flow,” lahad niya.

Dagdag pa ni Gloria, “Ang gaganda talaga nila. Ang tatangkad. Siyempre we have a lot of melting pot of praises so, talagang gumaganda sila. And now, you know, kulang ang boobs? Dagdagan! Medyo pa-ngo? Dagdagan! Talo now? Sali ulit! So, free for all na ngayon, e.”

Ha-hahaha!”
Anyway, going strong pa rin daw sila ng boyfriend niya for 21 years na si Mike de Jesus. They don’t live together at wala pa raw sa plano nila ang magpakasal.

“Enjoy lang kami. We don’t have to get married. In spite my ex-husband died na, hindi ba? I think there’s no occasion to get married, it’s just piece of paper. But he’s single. He’s never been married,” aniya pa.

Five minutes away lang daw ang bahay niya sa San Lorenzo to Mike’s abode in Dasmariñas, Makati City.

She already married twice. All her children including Isabelle Daza are from her first hubby.

“Maybe if I find a house, or he finds a house with one big bedroom, with lots of closet, two big bathrooms, baka, we’ll get together. But otherwise, we are fine,” Gloria added.
