Football unang lalaruin sa SEA Games

ILANG araw pa bago opisyal na bubuksan ang 29th Southeast Asian Games sa Agosto 19 ay mauuna nang sasabak sa kompetisyon ang Pilipinas sa men’s at women’s football sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Halos papatapos na ang paghahanda ng Philippine men’s under-22 team sa dinaluhang training camp sa Japan pati na rin ang women’s team para sa asam nitong makasungkit ng medalya sa torneo na magsisimula sa Agosto 14 at magtatapos sa Agosto 29.

Ang men’s team ay nasa llalim ni coach Marlon Maro. Kabilang ito sa Group B kasama ang Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Timor Leste, at Vietnam. Bago ang SEA Games ay sumabak muna ang koponan sa AFC Under-23 Championship 2018 Qualifiers kung saan tumapos ito na ikaapat sa kanilang grupo.

Ang women’s team naman ay gigiyahan ni coach Marnelli “Let” Dimzon kung saan matapos ang SEA Games ay agad na maghahanda ito para sa AFC Women’s Asian Cup na gaganapin sa Jordan sa 2018. —Angelito Oredo
