Mother Lily sa resulta ng MMFF 2016: Sayang ang festival, very sad!

DEDMA ang Selection Committee ng 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival sa entry ng mga box-office stars base sa eight official entries na kanilang inanunsyo last Friday sa Club Filipino.

Keber nila kung walang Vic Sotto, Vice Ganda, Coco Martin, Mano Po, Vhong Navarro, Coleen Garcia at mainstream artists, huh!

Unang in-announce na entry ang “Die Beautiful” ni Paolo Ballesteros at last naman ang “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 2” nina Eugene Domingo at Jericho Rosales. The rest ay ang “Seklusyon”, “Saving Sally”, “Sunday Beauty Queen”, “Oro”, “Kabisera” at “Vince & Kath & James.”

Change daw is coming sa 2016 MMFF. Wala na kasing classification kung mainstream o indie ang entry. Basta pumasa sila sa criteria ng committee, tanggap na. Wala silang pakialam kung malalaking artista pa ang bida.

Natural, violent ang reaksyon ng tumatangkilik sa festival. Paano na ang mga batang gustong maaliw sa araw ng Pasko? “They took away the Christmas spirit,” sabi ng isang member ng media.

Nalulungkot naman si Mother Lily Monteverde hindi dahil hindi napili ang entry ng Regal Films na “Mano Po 7”. Eh, hindi naman siya against indie films dahil nakagawa na rin siya noon ng tinawag na “pito-pito” movies o yung pelikulang tinapos ng pitong araw.

“Christmas is for the children to enjoy the movies such as Vice Ganda, Coco Martin o Enteng and those movies approved by MMFF Committee are movies pang indie crowd. SAYANG ANG FESTIVAL. VERY SAD,” text sa amin ni Mother Lily.

Maging ang common tao na inaabangan ang filmfest ay shocked din sa mga pelikulang napili! Nawalan na tuloy sila ng gana na suportahan ang MMFF sa Pasko.

Eh di ba, pag Pasko eh may lumulutang na scrooge? So ang tawag sa Selection Committee ngayon ay scrooge ng 2016 MMF. Heto sila – Ping Medina, Lawrence Fajardo, Mae Paner, Atty. Trixie Angeles, Alan Allanigue, Crispina Belen, Joy Belmonte, Krip Yuson and Chairman Nick Tiongson.

Ang tina-target na income ng 2016 MMFF ay mahigit P1 billion, huh! Isang malaking GOOD LUCK!
