Sid Lucero sa isyu ng ilegal na droga: Kung salot ka na, di ka na kailangan!

SELF-CONFESSED drug user ang award-winning actor na si Sid Lucero. Pero matagal na raw siyang tumigil sa paggamit ng illegal drugs kaya handa rin siyang magpa-voluntary drug test anytime.

Suportado ni Sid ang matinding kampanya ng pamahalaang Duterte laban sa mga drug user at drug addict, ito’y dahil alam niya kung gaano rin katindi ang epekto nito sa isang tao.

Sa grand presscon kamakailan ng bagong GMA primetime series na Alyas Robin Hood kung saan gaganap na kontrabida ni Dingdong Dantes si Sid, sinabi nitong positibo ang pananaw niya sa anti-drug campaign ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“It’s not news that I’ve had my own problems in the past. I, to a certain extent, agree to what is happening. But I would like to, you know, put into consideration that some people who have some problems with it, for example, like myself.

“I think there’s no secret naman, e. They know all my baho. It’s not a criminal offense to be an addict, e. It’s a clinical problem.

“I think when people take this into consideration, kasi step one naman, ‘yan, e. Step one is to get rid of the roots. Step 2 is to take care of the victims,” ang paliwanag ni Sid.

Suggestion ng Kapuso actor sa mga otoridad, “Get rid of the ones creating this problem, but make sure to cradle the ones who have been tumbled on.”

Ngunit kailangan din daw maging maingat ang mga operatiba ng PNP/PDEA para hindi madamay ang mga walang kasalanan. Importante pa rin daw na irespeto ang human rights ng mga suspek.

“I think it’s important that the Philippines is going through this. But at the same time, we have to be aware of our rights.

“Although they have reason to go door-to-door, it’s still a violation to our rights, like, to keep our door closed. I think in the future, they’ll find a way to meet halfway, to take care of our own people.

“I don’t think putting down people is the right thing to do. Siguro kung talagang salot ka talaga, pati mga estudyante ginagawa mo nang adik, siguro hindi ka na kailangan,” mahabang paliwanag ng aktor.

Tinanong din ng press si Sid sa media launch ng Alyas Robin Hood kung ano ang posisyon niya sa balitang pagsasapubliko ng listahan ng mga artistang sangkot sa droga.

“Well, I understand where it’s coming from because we’re public people. I mean, whether you’re a director or an artist, you have the power to have the children look up to you.

“If they found out, for example, hypothetically, bigla na lang itong si Pepe (karakter ni Dingdong) natin sa Alyas Robin Hood, who the young people look up to, we found out taking drugs, that’s not good! He’s supposed to be a role model, right? So, I think they’re going about it the right way,” esplika pa ng aktor.

Pero pakiusap ni Sid, “But I really think that we should not ostracize the victims of this because it’s not an easy thing. I come from there. I’ve had talks. I’m still in recovery. It’s a lifetime disease.”

Anyway, mapapanood na ang Alyas Robin Hood sa Sept. 19 sa GMA Telebabad after Encantadia directed by Dominic Zapata. Si Sid ang makakaagaw ni Dingdong kay Megan Young sa kuwento. Siya rin ang dahilan kung bakit nakulong ang karakter ni Dong sa serye.

Ang dapat pang abangan ay ang mga eksena ni Sid sa tiyahin niyang si Cherie Gil na gaganap namang nanay niya sa bagong serye ng GMA.

Balik-kontrabida uli si Cherie sa Alyas Robin Hood kaya exciting kung paano naman niya pahihirapan ang mga bida sa kuwento, lalo na si Dingdong.
