Impeach Duterte, may ‘zero’ chance na magkatotoo

Isa lamang umanong panaginip ang pag-impeach ngayon kay incoming president Rodrigo Duterte.     At kung si outgoing Speaker Feliciano Belmonte ang tatanungin, ang pag-alis sa puwesto kay Duterte ay may ‘zero’ chance na magtagumpay.      “Let’s face it, the chances of that (impeachment) is zero and nobody would even think of it. Let’s give the new President a chance to run the country without talk of impeachment or anything like that being uttered by anybody from any political party,” ani Belmonte.      Nauna ng sinabi ni Duterte na hindi siya matatakot ma-impeach dahil sa mga gagawin nito para matupad ang kanyang mga ipinangako noong kampanya.      “I myself had been part of a number of impeachment proceedings, kay Erap (dating Pangulong Joseph Estrada), kay (SC chief justice Renato) Corona and the aborted one of (Ombudsman Merceditas) Gutierrez and definitely, I don’t see any reason whatsoever for the President to fear this,” ani Belmonte.      Tinawag namang kalokohan ni Belmonte ang plano umanong patalsikin si Duterte para ang umupo sa Malacanang ay si incoming Vice Presidente Leni Robredo, miyembro ng Liberal Party.      “Iyun ang malaking kalokohan at intriga na sinasabi ng mga tao and I know hindi mga peryodista ang nag-iisip nun, pero iyan ang number one na intriga sa lahat,” dagdag pa ng speaker. “I think it is a matter of time, they (Duterte and Robredo) will get on to work with each other.”      Kahapon ay dumalo si Belmonte sa ceremonial signing at turnover ng deed of donation and acceptance ng 1955 bronze bust ni Dr. Jose P. Rizal na gawa ng national artist na si Guillermo Tolentino at ang orihinal na kopya ng 1935 Constitution sa Kamara de Representantes.      Upang ma-impeach ang pangulo kailangan na pabor dito ang one-third ng kabuuang bilang ng mga kongresista. Aakyat ang reklamo sa Senado na magsasagawa ng impeachment trial at kailangan ng two-third vote para maalis ang pangulo.
