“While incoming President Duterte’s absence would not affect the legality of his proclamation, I believe that the more than 16 million voters behind his victory would want him attending his proclamation in as winning President, a recognition of their (Duterte’s voters) support to him,” ani Gonzales.
“But of course we don’t want to pre-empt him. It’s his choice and prerogative not to come in Congress tomorrow and attend his proclamation. With or without his presence, we will proceed with the proclamation,” dagdag pa ni Gonzales.
“Cong. Robredo will be here in Congress to attend the event to thank and honor the more than twelve million voters that supported her.”
“There will be also no problem on quorum because the joint session just suspended and will resume only tomorrow (Monday). Besides I don’t think somebody will spoil the historic event tomorrow (today) by questioning the possibility of lack of quorum,” dagdag pa ni Gonzales.
