Comelec hinamon ni Imelda Papin; Dapat lumabas ang katotohanan

WE received a letter from our dear friend Ms. Imelda Papin who recently lost in her congressional bid sa 4th District ng Camarines Sur kung saan dating tumakbo si Aga Muhlach and also lost.
Masama siyempre ang loob ni kafatid na Mel and we fully understand where she is coming from. Here is her long note:

“While there was an insistent clamor for me to run as Congresswoman in the 4th District of Camarines Sur, at the same time, I was also warned that my opponent’s family has been entrenched for 107 years in the Partido District of of Camarines Sur and they will do everything to win at all cost.

“Upon careful study and deliberation, I firmly decided to run as Congresswoman because I cannot ignore the pleas for help of the people in Partido who have already lost hope in ever realizing their aspirations for a progressive and prosperous Partido – the district being the poorest in Camarines Sur.

“Aside from the loud clamor, I am emboldened by my track record as the first female elected and re-elected Vice Governor of Camarines Sur, where I was twice awarded the Most Outstanding Vice Governor of the Philippines, highlighted my zero-corruption record. Our team rejoiced over the results of an independent survey of the people in Partido.

“When the questionable results came out, there was an uproar as well as an outrage when Noli Fuentebella was declared the winner. A great deal of people are aware of the many scandalous instances where counting was stopped. During the counting in Tinambac where I was leading, the CCS suddenly became inaccessible. Not only that, the SD cards could not be read, so it was sent to the main office of Smartmatic in Laguna which provoked suspicions.

“The counting only resumed on May 12 where one SD card was even found to be blank by a member of our legal team. A frightful incident also happened when members of the Philippine Army and the police force from different municipalities descended on the Tinambac municipal building and reportedly on orders of my opponent, told off the poll watchers to get out and padlocked the Comelec office, while a helicopter purportedly owned by the Fuentebellas was hovering over.

“It is with conviction that I am pursuing this case and lodging a protest before the House of the Representatives Electoral Tribunal. Indeed, it is a crusade that we are spearheading and with God’s help and guidance as well as everyone’s prayers and support, we can overcome all obstacles and pave the way towards change and progress!

“With this development, I will now be in the forefront of electoral reforms and spearhead the crusade where the true will and voice of the people will be reflected through clean, honest and credible elections.”

Pag nakita na ang missing 24,000 votes at lumabas pa rin na talo si Ms. Papin, for sure Mel will rest her case pero what if Ms. Papin indeed won, what happens next? Kailan pa kaya mabubuksan ito at kailan matutugunan ang panawagang ito?

Kaloka talaga ang eleksiyon sa bansa natin, palaging may anomalya. Kasi there are so many people who are very hungry for power and money. Hay naku!
