Imbestigasyon kay Duterte tuloy, pero Ombudsman nag-inhibit
Hindi ititigil ng Office of the Ombudsman ang pag-iimbestiga sa reklamong inihain ni Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV laban kay presumptive president-elect Rodrigo Duterte kahit pa pamangkin niya ang mister ng anak nito.
Ayon kay Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales kung mayroon silang makitang sapat na ebidensya laban kay Duterte bahala na ang Kamara de Representantes kung may maghain ng impeachment complaint.
“If the complaint is meritorious, the Ombudsman will continue to investigate an impeachable officer for the purpose of determining whether gross or grave misconduct has been committed,” ani Morales. “If the investigation turns affirmative, then we will forward our resolution to Congress for possible impeachment.”
Hindi maaaring kasuhan ng Ombudsman sa Sandiganbayan ang isang impeachable officer gaya ng Pangulo at Bise Presidente.
Sinabi ni Morales na nag-inhibit na siya sa paghawak ng reklamo laban kay Duterte bago pa ang eleksyon.
Si Mans Carpio, asawa ni Mayor-elect Sara Duterte, ay anak ng kapatid ni Carpio na si Davao Regional Trial Court judge Lucas Carpio.
Nag-inhibit na rin si Carpio sa imbestigasyon laban kay Sara kaugnay ng panununtok nito sa court sheriff noong Hulyo 2011.
“I think relationship is not a factor in the disposition of cases or in the investigation of cases…He (Duterte) knows that I am impervious of any influence,” ani Carpio.
