“We have received reports both from our people and on social media of attacks on our supporters on the ground. Rocks are thrown at houses with Mar-Leni posters,” ani Akbayan Rep. Barry Gutierrez.
“These Duterte supporters urinate on their houses, or force the owners to put up posters of Mayor Duterte,” dagdag pa ni Gutierrez. “This violation of our homes echoes what the Nazis did in their quest for power. We all know what happened then, when those who were against them failed to unite and were cowed into silence. If they can already act this way, what more if their preferred candidate wins?”
“We call on those who believe in decency, let’s unite. Let’s rally to Mar and Leni. We will win against those who use fear and violence to get their ends. These cowards are no match for our courage.”
