NAGBABALA ang New People’s Army (NPA) ng mga serye ng mga pag-atake sa susunod na mga buwan matapos naman ang pagsunog ng farm equipment sa Bukidnon at Misamis Oriental by the New People’s Army (NPA).
Sinabi ni Allan Juanito, spokesperson ng NPA North Central Mindanao Regional Command mas marami pang pag-atake ang isasagawa laban sa maraming kumpanya, partikular sa Del Monte Philippines Inc. (DMPI).
“The time has come that they can no longer do as they wish, for their plantations are surrounded by the revolutionary forces who are ready to put a stop to their deeds. The attack on them is just the first step in demanding a payback for their social debt, which is already piling up,” sabi ni Juanito.
Noong Enero 26, sinunog ng mga miyembro ng NPA ang isang bulldozer, isang owner-type jeep at isang generator set sa loob ng 25-ektaryang plantasyon ng mga pinya na pag-aari ng isang Leo Woo, na sinasabing kontraktor ng DMPI, sa Sitio Kitanglad, Barangay San Juan, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.
Umabot sa P15 milyon halaga ng pinsala.
Umatake rin ang NPA sa Dole Philippines, Lapanday at DMPI sa iba’t ibang lokasyon sa Malaybalay City.
