NAIS ng mga taga-Metro Manila, ang sentro ng ekonomiya at politika ng bansa, na si Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte ang maging susunod na pangulo ng Pilipinas.
Ito ay matapos na manguna si Duterte sa survey na ginawa ng Pulse Asia Research Inc nitong nakaraang dalawang linggo.
Isa sa tatlong botante sa Metro Manila, o 34 porysento, ang nagpahayag na iboboto nila si Duterte kung ngayon gagawin ang eleksyon.
Si Grace Poe, na nangunguna sa mga nagdaang survey, ay nakakuha naman ng 26 porysento. Sinundan siya ni Vice President Jejomar Binay, 22 porsyento; former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, 11 porsyentol at Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, 7 porsyento.
Nang tanungin tungkol sa survey, sinabi ni Duterte hindi niya maintindihan kung bakit ang gaya niyang “probinsyano” ang gusto nilang maging pangulo ng bansa.
“I am happy if I am leading or just equal to Poe. I am running on a matter of principle because I don’t want anyone messing up the Constitution.” pahayag ni Duterte sa panayam sa Inquirer.
“It’s a matter of principle and there are times and events in your life that you just do what you have to do,” dagdag pa nito.
Sa ginawang survey, ang respondent ay pinakitaan ng limang pangalan (Binay, Duterte, Poe, Roxas at Santiago) at saka tinanong: “If the following were candidates for President of the Philippines, whom would you vote for if the 2016 elections were held today?”
Ginawa ng Pulse Asia ang face-to-face interview sa may 300 respondent noong Nov. 11 at 12., o dalawang linggo bago magdeklara si Duterte na sasabak na siya sa pampanguluhang eleksyon.
Ang survey na pribadong kinomisyon ay merong margin of error ng plus o minus 5 percentage points.
