Cedric Lee ipinaaaresto kaugnay ng P194M tax case
PINAG-UTOS ng Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) ang pag-aresto sa negosyanteng si Cedric Lee at asawang si Judy Gutierrez kaugnay ng P194.47 milyong kasong tax evasion na inihain ng Department of Justice (DOJ) noong Hulyo.
Sumuko naman ang kanilang kapwa akusado na si John K. Ong, chief operating officer ng Izumo Contractors Inc. na pag-aari ni Lee at pansamantalang pinakawalan matapos namang maglagak ng P80,000 piyansa kaugnay ng apat na counts ng tax evasion.
“This Court finds the existence of probable cause to issue a warrant of arrest against the accused,” sabi ng tax court.
Noong Hulyo, inaprubahan ng DOJ ang paghahain ng kaso laban sa tatlo.
Sa 13-pahinang resolusyon, sinabi nig DOJ na hindi nagdeklara ng tamang kinita ang kumpanya ni Lee mula 2006 hanggang 2009.
Nagdeklara lamang ang Izumo ng P5.54 milyon sa ITR nito noong 2006; P9.14 milyon noong 2007; P21.34 milyon noong 2008 at P40.20 milyon noong 2009.
